Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ReCult website at recult.app, the ReCult app (on iPhone and the web), our email programs (including The Steal daily deal), and the content and accounts ReCult operates. By using any of these, you agree to these Terms.

ReCult is operated by BDM LLC, doing business as ReCult ("ReCult," "we," "us"). ReCult builds tools that help people find useful local information and genuinely good deals. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the service.

Who can use ReCult

You must be at least 13 years old to use ReCult. By using the service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide to us is accurate.

The Steal and our emails

• The Steal is a free email that highlights one genuinely good deal a day. You can subscribe with your email address and unsubscribe at any time using the one-click link in every email.
• We surface deals we believe are good value at the real landed price, and we do not publish fake or inflated "was" prices. Even so, prices, availability, and offers are set by the retailer and can change or sell out at any time.
• ReCult is not the seller. When you buy a deal, you buy directly from the retailer, on the retailer's website and under the retailer's own terms. Any purchase, payment, shipping, return, or warranty matter is between you and that retailer.

Orders, refunds and subscriptions

Food orders (Eat)

• Eat lets you order food for pickup from participating restaurants and pay in the app. The restaurant prepares your food and is responsible for it; ReCult provides the app, the checkout and customer support.
• You pay by card through Stripe, or, for some restaurants, through Square / Cash App checkout run by Block, Inc. Your payment is also subject to that processor's terms. ReCult never stores your full card number.
• Please check your items, choices and pickup time before you pay.

Refunds for food orders

• If the restaurant rejects or cancels your order, or doesn't accept it within 10 minutes, you get a full refund to your original payment method.
• If there is a problem with your order, email support@recult.app with your order number and we will look into it.
• An order that is not picked up may not be refunded, because the restaurant has already prepared it.
• Orders paid through Cash App / Square checkout follow that restaurant's own refund policy.
• Refunds go back to the original payment method. How long they take to appear depends on your card issuer or Cash App.

ReCult Plus

• ReCult Plus is an optional, auto-renewing subscription: $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends.
• Your subscription renews automatically at the same price and period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
• Manage or cancel anytime in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. If you cancel, Plus stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
• Because Apple handles billing, refund requests for ReCult Plus go to Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) under Apple's policies. Your use of the App Store is also subject to Apple's Media Services Terms.

Affiliate links

Some deal links may be affiliate links, meaning ReCult can earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Whether a link is an affiliate link never changes which deal we choose to feature.

Third-party sites and platforms

The service links to third-party websites (such as retailers) and is published on third-party platforms (such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, Threads, and Telegram). We do not control those sites or platforms and are not responsible for their content, products, or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.

Acceptable use

When using ReCult, you agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
• Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its systems;
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute our content on a commercial scale without permission; or
• Misrepresent your identity or use the service to harm others.

User content: zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

ReCult has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You must agree to these Terms before you create an account or sign in. When you post, comment, or send messages in ReCult, you agree not to share content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory, spam, or that exploits or endangers anyone, and not to bully, harass, impersonate, or abuse other people.

• Report: you can report any post, comment, message, or person from its "•••" menu or profile.
• Block: you can block anyone from their post, profile, or messages. Their content is removed from your view immediately, and ReCult is notified.
• Enforcement: we review reports and blocks and act within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these Terms and suspend or permanently ban the accounts that posted it.

Intellectual property

The ReCult name, logo, and original content are owned by ReCult and protected by applicable laws. You may share links to our public pages and posts, but you may not copy our branding or present our content as your own.

No warranty

The service and its content, including deals and prices, are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that any deal, price, or piece of information is accurate, current, available, or suitable for your needs. You are responsible for verifying details with the retailer before purchasing.

Health, nutrition and allergens

ReCult provides general wellness and nutrition information. It is not medical advice, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Talk to your clinician about your lab results and your diet.

Allergen and nutrition information comes from restaurants. ReCult does not prepare food and cannot guarantee that this information is complete or accurate. If you have a food allergy, confirm with the restaurant when you order.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReCult will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the service, your reliance on any deal or information, or any transaction with a third-party retailer.

Changes to the service and these Terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; when we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and material changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which ReCult operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located there, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
